You can’t hear them or see them but earlier this week the air around this marsh was filled with the spring peepers doing what they do best – peeping. Spring peepers are actually tiny frogs (the northern ones are about 1 1/2 inches long with a brown X on their backs) and in spring they noisily sing their mating calls – by peeping, of course. It’s a lovely call – no wonder there are lot and lots of tiny peepers.

I’ve been hearing ‘peepers’ for awhile…since the first spring full moon. I’ve always enjoyed the sound of peepers. Lovely photo of the marsh. I really like the reflections in the water.
Love the peepers and you should try getting the sound clip on here for everyone to hear! It is such a great spring/summer sound!
It looks like beavers got to your pond too. Actually I was taking shots in an area like this today.. with little mallards. This is beautifully composed… darn… now I have to go back!
You capture color where none should exist yet. The blue in the sky, the reflections in the water. The hues of brown, gold & orange. Quite delightful.
